    Question

I just bought an XL55 and it didn't come with instructions. Can anyone tell me where to put the battery and/or some where I can find instrucions for it?

    Thanks!

The XL55 is extremely easy to use.It takes 4 AA batteries that go in a compartment that opens up on the left hand side.Everything is automatic except for focusing which is set by turning the lens barrell until the double images in the viewfinder merge as one. There are two speeds 9fps and 18fps.18fps is normal and 9fps speeds the action up by twice assuming you are showing your films at 18fps.
There is an orange indicator light in the top of the viewfinder which will let you know when there is not enough light for a well exposed image and a red light in the bottom that lets you know when your film is running out.
Film loads into the rear (you can't screw that up) and on the left side, above the battery compartment, there is a gas guage style meter that tells you how much film is remaining.
Good little camera for a simple, consumer grade Kodak machine, but it's fully auto functions can drive you nuts with their limitations.
